Spring League:

BCB has 4 divisions for boys and girls - Grades 2 & 3, Grades 4 & 5, Grades 6 - 8, and Grades 9-12.

Players from around the island will be placed on a team in accordance to their geographical area. There are no tryouts.

Geographical Area:
South(Port Hawkesbury/Strait area)
North (Ingonish/Cabot area)
West (Inverness)
North West (North Sydney, Sydney Mines, Baddeck
East (Glace Bay, New Waterford and in between)
Central (Greater Sydney area).

If there are players from a particular area that exceeds a single team roster, a second team will be added. Players will then be evaluated and placed on a team with the goal of achieving two competitive teams.

All teams will practice at least once a week and will play a 10 game schedule, plus playoffs. All teams make playoffs and are ranked based on the regular season schedule. Practice locations will be determined by the number of teams registered and coaches. Games will be played in a mini tournament format. Teams will play five weekend days either Saturday or Sunday. They will play 2 games on game day at the same location. For example. if all five areas have teams in a certain division - then one week the South will host all teams that day in a tournament format and the next week it could be Central hosting all teams in a tournament format. Teams will typically play a game, incur a break and play the second game the same day. The host team would typically play the first game and the last game in order to open and close the facility.

Player selection to a team will not consider friend connections or transportation. However, families registering multiple players can certainly request for siblings to be placed on the same team.

Registration fees will be $100.00 for jr. mini and $175.00 for mini and bantam and $200.00 for high school. All divisions include a player jersey which will be ordered immediately upon closing of registration. A late fee may apply to late registrations.

Payments can be e-transferred to accounts@basketballcapebreton.com or you can make a secure credit card payment here on our site. Arrangements can be made to pay by cash or a cheque at Centennial Arena. If families have multiple siblings that wish to play, family discounts are available when you register.

When e-transferring, please add your player's name to the message.

Fall Ball

Fall Ball is a 3 to 4 week program that runs in September just prior to the beginning of the school and rep seasons. It serves as an opportunity for players to get themselves ready for ball. Whether it's a BCB rep team or a school team, players can get back into the gym, get back into shape and be ready for an upcoming tryout.

3 on 3 Basketball

3 on 3 Basketball runs once per year, typically in the summer months. It serves as a great opportunity to meet new friends and practice some skills under a different format.

The clinic is open to individuals who may be interested in coaching for BCB, coaching at a school coach, or someone who is getting involved in coaching for the first time.
